I’m not exactly sure how Evan and I became friends, but I’m pretty sure it started after class one day when we both realized we were broke and hungry. We ended up grabbing the 99-cent chicken nuggets at Burger King — and that quickly became our go-to lunch for the next year and a half. Some might call it friendship. Others might call it trauma bonding. Either way, the rest was history.
So when Evan asked me to shoot his engagement photos, it honestly felt like an honor — and my first response was, “It’s about damn time.” A few weeks later, he asked me to photograph the wedding too, and that meant even more.
I could say a lot about Evan, but three words stand out: smart AF, loyal, and hard-working. He also knows way too much about cars and kind of reminds me of Dominic Toretto — because for him, it’s always about family.
And then there’s Emilie. I don’t know her as well as I know Evan, but I know this: she makes him genuinely happy. She brings out a version of him I hadn’t seen before — more grounded, more at ease, and just… better. That alone tells me everything I need to know. Anyone who loves and supports my friend like that is already an amazing person in my book.
So yeah, this one meant a lot. Thank you both for trusting me with your story — I hope you love the photos as much as I loved creating them.
